  • I want to express gratitude and appreciation to the traditional caretakers of this land, Jumanos, Coahuiltecan, Nʉmʉnʉʉ Sookobitʉ, Ndé Kónitsąąíí Gokíyaa, and Tonkawa and acknowledge that these are their lands on which we work, live, and learn.

  • Atulado Therapy is currently accepting new clients who can attend sessions online.

  • While online therapy can make counseling more accessible for some, it can create barriers for others. Some people immediately know that they would like to meet with someone in person and that online therapy is not for them. If you’re unsure, here are some things to consider:

Most health insurances cover telemedicine, but not all do so always be sure to check your health plan to confirm.

Private space and reliable technology are necessary for online therapy, so it’s likely not the best option if it’s challenging to secure reliable access to a private space, a smartphone or computer (with a camera), and high speed internet connection.

  • Individual sessions are fifty-five minutes to an hour long. After an initial consultation, you and I can decide whether sessions should be held weekly, every other week, or monthly.

Some people use therapy as a long-term resource. For others, all that is needed is a few sessions or short term counseling. You and I get to determine when it is time to end, but ultimately, you always have the power to decide.

  • A tu lado means alongside or by your side in Spanish. My work is rooted in the belief that we are meant to connect to each other, to our communities, to our surroundings, and to our intuition. Humans are meant to do things in community; we aren’t meant to go through life alone. We are all connected!

The Atulado logo depicts the Senita moth and Senita cactus flower who are an example of mutual aid. The Senita moth not only relies on the Senita cactus for reproducing, the cactus relies on the moth to pollinate and reproduce as well.

  • After scheduling our intake session, I will email you intake paper work that will ask you for your demographic information and personal history. You will have an opportunity to review atulado’s policies and procedures, as well as the informed consent and confidentiality agreements.

When this is completed before the initial session, it gives me a chance to learn the information you'd like me to know about you before we meet. Our first time meeting gets to be less about paperwork and more about you. I’ll answer any questions you might have and tell you a bit about myself.

If, for any reason this intake format feels unsafe or uncomfortable, just let me know and we can adjust.

  • Because a time commitment is made to you and time is held exclusively for you, I ask that clients cancel or reschedule 24 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment.

I do have a $75.00 late cancel fee but I also know we don’t always get a smooth 24-hour notice in life. Every client gets a “freebie” every calendar year for those last-minute emergencies.

  • Yes! 35% of my practice is reserved for reduced fee sessions. Please let me know if you are interested in reduced fee sessions during your consult and I will let you know if there is availability.

Please note that reduced fee slots are reserved for people facing financial distress. They are not designed to be long-term.

Note: Those who pay my full fee make it sustainable for me to provide reduced fee services to those facing financial hardship.
